At Great Rail Journeys, we believe that rail travel is for everyone, including those who choose to holiday as a solo traveller. We take great pride in helping each one of our passengers make the most of our tours and their destinations, whether they travel with a partner, friends or on their own.
Our solo travellers enjoy the same benefits as everyone else, while at the same time getting the benefits of a flexible solo experience. All our tours give the option of whether to join the group on an excursion or venture off on their own, providing an option for those who prefer undisturbed exploration. You will stay with the same group for the duration of your time with us, so have ample time to make like-minded friends on your tour, even when travelling solo.
The following tours are some of our most comprehensive and best-loved European options, suitable for groups, couples and individuals alike, however, we have many tours going to the rest of the world too!
Please note, all our tours are available to solo travellers and on each tour, solo travellers can be sure to enjoy the exact same high quality as everyone else. However, on tours which do not feature our No Solo Supplement offer, solo travellers will be required to pay a supplement for their chosen departure. This is generally as many hotels do not have single rooms available at half the price of a double or twin room.
To see the solo travel price, please filter the results by clicking on the Solo Traveller Pricing under Additional Options.
On certain days, itineraries will feature segments of daytime cruising, revealing the true and often breathtaking beauty of some of Europe's finest waterways
Enjoy the sunlit scenery from all areas of the ship, in the cabins, the restaurant and the bar thanks to the specially designed panoramic windows
Each Great Rail Journeys chartered cruise travels only one way up the river, meaning that none of our ships cover the same ground twice;
Every day brings new and exciting sights to see.
Our ships sail at a leisurely pace, allowing you to take in the best that Europe's waterways have to offer.
The gentle pace is perfect for kicking back and relaxing as you're lulled the peaceful sounds of lapping water
