Itinerary
We meet our Tour Manager and our fellow travellers at London St Pancras where we join the Eurostar to Brussels. Travelling in spacious Standard Premier Class we enjoy a light meal at our seats as we glide through northern France and into Belgium. On arrival in Brussels, we change trains and travel by First Class rail to Cologne, where we spend a night.
Arriving around mid-afternoon, the rest of your day is free to explore the historic city nestled beside the glorious Rhine. Cologne's main attraction is its impressive Gothic cathedral with twin spires piercing the sky. Its historic squares are lined with charming buildings housing restaurants and bars. To enjoy a view of the city's skyline, you might like to join a riverboat cruise to see the sights from the Rhine River. This evening, we get to know one another over dinner at our central hotel.

Wonderful experience. Very well-organised. We got to see a lot of Germany in a short space of time. Visited some beautiful world heritage sites. There’s a lot of travel involved so if you want something a bit more relaxing you might want to avoid this tour. We had a great tour guide who was very professional the whole time. The group was a good size of around 25 people, all very nice. All in all I would definitely recommend but read the itinerary carefully before committing.

We enjoyed the places we went to and the hotels, but the travel to get there and back was dreadful. The German trains where either cancelled or late. When you pay for holidays like this you don't expect to stand in crowded corridors on trains. If it hadn't been for our excellent courier, we would never have got home. After a dreadful journey, the coach was an hour late picking us up at Cologne. We had a 6 hour coach journey on the way home, because we couldn't risk the trains and the coach driver got lost in Brussels. Summed it up really.
