Itinerary
Your holiday begins in Harrogate, where the Tour Manager waits to greet you at a beautifully restored Georgian hotel, close to the town's Turkish Baths, Royal Pump Room Museum and Valley Gardens.
One of northern England's most attractive towns, nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Harrogate retains many of its Georgian and Victorian features. Its original spa buildings, the Royal Baths, opened in the 1800s when Turkish Baths were first introduced across Britain. The Harrogate baths are the only ones in the country which remain in full working order.
After settling in, there's time to explore, maybe strolling across to the Valley Gardens, up Parliament Street to visit the famous Betty's Café Tea Rooms or to browse some independent shops before dinner in the hotel.

The wild and windswept North York Moors are infamous in fact and fiction, with over 1,400 miles of stunning scenery, tranquil trecks and wonderful wildlife it's easy to see why. Overflowing with barron moorland, lush valleys and pine forests to captivating coastlines and home to historic monuments, villages and a wealth of wildlife - there is so much to discover here.
The iconic Settle-Carlisle Railway was the last mainline railway to be built in the UK and was completed in 1876 by the Midland Railway Company after six years of work. Widely accepted as being one of the best-engineered mainline tracks in England, the line is visually dramatic and offers a truly great rail journey.

A well-planned tour which includes historic sites, beautiful scenery and interesting train journeys. Good to have it all together in one package, with two comfortable hotels. As usual with GRJ, the tour manager was cheerful and efficient, and the hotels of good quality. Highly recommended.
